Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the PMA Long Course, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Nationality: Must be a male citizen of Pakistan or a domicile holder of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan.

  1. Intermediate or equivalent: 17-22 years (relaxable for 3 months both in upper and lower age limits)
  2. Graduates (2 years): 17-23 years
  3. Graduates (4 years): 17-24 years
  4. Serving Army Soldiers: 17-25 years

Marital Status: Unmarried (exceptions apply to serving army personnel)

Education:

Minimum of 60% marks in FA/FSc or equivalent.

Candidates who have scored 55% marks in FA/FSc or equivalent but are domiciled from specific areas (e.g., FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Baluchistan) may apply under special relaxation.

Physical Standards

Minimum Height: 5 feet 4 inches (162.5 cm)

Selection Process

The selection process for the PMA Long Course is highly competitive and consists of the following stages:

Online Registration: Candidates must register through the official Pakistan Army website or visit the nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Centre (AS&RC). The registration portal is now open.

Initial Tests: The initial tests include written exams based on English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Intelligence.

Physical Tests: Candidates who pass the written tests will proceed to physical evaluations. These include:

  1. 1.6 km run in 8 minutes
  2. 15 push-ups in 2 minutes
  3. 15 sit-ups in 2 minutes
  4. 3 chin-ups in 2 minutes
  5. Ditch crossing (7’4” x 7’4” with a depth of 4’)

Interviews and Medical Examination: After clearing the physical tests, candidates will be interviewed by selection officers, followed by a thorough medical examination to ensure they meet the Army’s health standards.
